Independent writing on the systems, decisions, and commercial realities that shape project outcomes.

Lee Harkin, MSc, FRICS, PMP

Chartered surveyor, writer, and researcher of project systems.

Lee's work examines how decisions, incentives, governance structures, and commercial arrangements influence project outcomes. Drawing on experience across multiple countries, sectors, and delivery models, his writing focuses less on individual projects and more on the patterns that emerge across them.

His project experience is deliberately broad rather than sector-narrow, spanning healthcare, infrastructure, energy, advanced manufacturing, public and private sector work, and post-disaster reconstruction. That breadth continues to inform his interest in the organizational, contractual, and human factors that shape project success and failure.
